Madeira is full of irregular mountain ranges, thus providing different landscapes spread throughout the territory. Within some of these landscapes, there are 6 waterfalls that you can’t miss in Madeira Island. A huge variety on a natural level, it literally has almost everything. Caldeirão Verde, Queimadas

Heading towards the north of the island, in the municipality of Santana, here is one of the most memorable waterfalls in Madeira. To reach this levada you must walk more than 12 km, where you still can have lunch while enjoying the beautiful view of the waterfall and nature.

At Machico, take Via Expresso (VE1) towards Santana;
Upon arrival at the village of Santana, at the roundabout, take the 3st exit towards;
In the 25 de Maio route, at the roundabout, take the 1st exit towards;
Pass on Madeira tematic Park;
The route is on the queimada park.

Garganta Funda, Ponta do Pargo

Another fantastic waterfall is in the municipality of Calheta, specifically in front of a viewpoint with only access on foot for more than 1 km. You will see the great waterfall with a height of 140m in length, but we recommend visiting it in rainy weather, because in summer it can be dry. Despite everything, not only the beauty of the viewpoint that is still enchanted by the waterfall in front of you.

At the intersection with Estrada Regional (E.R.101), turn left on Caminho do Pedregal;

25 Fontes, Rabaçal

Returning to the municipality of Calheta, we find one of the most frequented and iconic waterfalls for both locals and tourists. Veu da Noiva, Seixal

In the municipality of São Vicente, we find one of the most beautiful waterfalls in all of Madeira, so much so that Microsoft itself put it in its loading photos and background landscapes. To access this waterfall, you need to walk along the old road that connected Seixal to São Vicente. You will have a spectacular view of a 30m waterfall and certainly there will be no shortage of photos.

Cascata dos Anjos, Ponta do Sol

Next to Calheta, in the municipality of Ponta do Sol, we have another quality waterfall. Situated on an old road that connected the municipality of Calheta with Ponta do Sol and still at the end of a mountainous levada, is this magnificent waterfall that flows into the sea. It is no longer enough to have a beautiful view of the ocean and still have the bonus of the geological structure and a good watercourse.

It is possible to observe the waterfalls in the middle of an oval-shaped path, and you can still appreciate the landscape in all its splendor. Surely you won’t waste your time and will be rewarded by the beauty of this waterfall! This waterfall will have to be walked for about 10 km.
